Week 4 Reflection

Last week we finished off our maths work on area, perimeter and volume. On Friday we had a test to reflect on what we have learnt. The test had questions that we had to convert like meters into centimetres and other ones like that. We also had word problems that we had to solve using our knowledge on area and perimeter. On Monday at assembly I got my bronze badge and I was so excited when I got it I couldn't believe that I was the second year 7 to get it.😀😀

On Friday for tech arts we started to make our bags I got up to sewing the sides with a zigzag stitch. The design that I am doing is three hearts that are different colours, the colours that I am using for my hearts are blue pink and purple the bag is going to be black and the handle is going to be lime green.😄 On Tuesday for tech arts since I had finished my pillow case I got to be creative and make anything I wanted so I decided to make a wallet that was attached with a Velcro lid. Once I did that I decided to make a heart out of black fabric once I had turned it inside out it didn't look like a heart at all it looked like a messed up boomerang.😞

On Thursday we did robotics I finished off most of my challenges but I'm still stuck on the orchard challenge once I had done that I watched videos about how to programme the robot then I started to finish building a robot so that next week we can start to programme it. I only got up to building the claw and almost getting it put on but since the kit didn't have the right pieces I had to adjust and make it fit.😀

On Wednesday we did a lot of maths we had to try and finish area and perimeter by Friday I was lucky enough that I did finish it on time because there was a lot of work to do. The hardest thing that I found to do was finding the are using pi but once I understood that it was easy. For example the radius is 2 and the rest is 3 so what you do is 2 x 2 x Pi then that answer times 3 and that is how you work it out. If the diameter was 3 and the other bit was 4 what you do is 3 x Pi because it is the full line then you would do that answer times 4.👍
